The United Nations population fund is present in more than 150 countries working to ensure reproductive rights for all. In Timor-Leste, UNFPA supports government and non-governmental organizations to address issues relating to sexual & reproductive health, human rights & gender equality, youth empowerment, and population dynamics.  UNFPA focuses on ensuring Sexual and Reproductive Health Care services, including the availability of quality Emergency Obstetric Care services, access to modern contraceptives, training of health workers, and prevention of teenage pregnancies. UNFPA also provides support to the Government of Timor-Leste in data collection, analysis and dissemination of the population censuses. In 2018, UNFPA launched efforts to achieve three transformative results; ending unmet need for family planning, ending preventable maternal death, and ending gender-based violence.
